Leaving Eye Makeup On All Night Could Make You Go BLIND

Are you someone who regularly forgets to give their face a good wash after a day or night of glam makeup?

Well, you’re REALLY going to want to rethink your actions, because according to new research, not washing your eye makeup off properly could lead to blindness…

Reported by the New York, a new study from the American Academy of Ophthalmology revealed the story of a 50-year-old Australian woman who want to the eye doctor, as she was experiencing pain and irritation in her eyes.

The doctor flipped up her top eyelids to have a look underneath and discovered something pretty icky…

They found solid masses, known as ‘concretions’, that were made up of 25 year’s worth or mascara buildup that was never removed properly…

The study revealed that if the masses in the woman’s eye had of gotten infected, she would have gone blind.

Thankfully, the doctors were able to remove the woman’s concretions in a procedure that took 90-minutes.

However, they resulted in permanent scarring, but this is much better than going blind!

New York City-based dermatologist Dr. Ellen Marmur told Teen Vogue:

“Gritty eyeshadow, chunky mascara, and flaky eyeliner might irritate the eye and the eyelash roots which can lead to redness and ingrown lashes."

Make sure you remove ALL eye makeup before going to sleep, with a gentle makeup remover.

Never, ever forget it!

Please note: just wearing eye makeup is not something that will directly cause blindness. However, as a result of decades of improper care, it could be a condition that could occur.
