This year, Cosmopolitan has teamed up with Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras to showcase their continuing support for love and equality with its official Pride issue!

On sale from today, this month’s issue of Cosmo looks at 11 inspirational rainbow warriors who have been the leading faces for gay rights in Australian communities.

Among those beacon ‘yes’ voters is Alex Nation, a former Bachelor contestant who won Richie Strahan's heart in 2016.

The couple later split and since then Alex has found her true love with fiancée Maegan Luxa

In an interview with Cosmo, Alex classifies herself as a ‘pansexual’, which is the attraction of people of all identities.

"I've always been pansexual," she says.

She exclusively talks about her issues in coming out in a same sex relationship and touches on some of the types of judgement associated with her relationship, and supporting likeminded women with exploring their sexuality.

"It was nowhere near as challenging as coming out and being honest with myself.”

People ask, ‘Are you gay now?’ And I say, ‘No, I’m just Alex!

Alex and other inspirations like, Christian Wilkins, Clover Moore, Penny Wong and Patrick Abboud… just to name a few… are some of the other liberalising rainbow warriors presented in Cosmo’s Pride issue.
