When Kit Kats come out of the production line but don’t meet the standard of a quality product (due to minor imperfections like air bubbles and wonky shapes) instead of throwing them away, manufacturers crush them up into a fine paste, creating the wafer filling. 

This means that all Kit Kats hold an ex-Kit Kat within them!
