Brookton Rail Incident

A 32 year old man from Brookton has sustained serious injuries following a railway incident in Brookton on the 6 May 2017.

At about 7:30pm, the man and his brother climbed onto a moving bulk freight train carriage as it was passing through the town.

The man fell between the break in carriages and was run over by the train. The brother made his way across.

The man’s foot and arm were severed.

SJA and Police attended. The man was airlifted to Royal Perth Hospital where he is in a stable condition.

It is understood the men were intoxicated. Police are reminding pedestrians to wait for trains to pass before attempting to cross a railway track.
