Life Jacket Law

Life Jacket Law

By joining growing local support, Albany Mayor Dennis Wellington has gotten behind the requirement for anglers to wear life jackets at dangerous rock locations.

Mr Wellington feels a $200 fine would serve as a fair fine for anybody who does not wear a life jacket on dangerous coastlines; “If people can’t think for themselves, sometimes you have to think for them" he said.

Premier Mark McGowan said that the State Government was finalising details for the trial, following the death of Albany man, Sam Roth, on Easter Monday at The Deeps.
