Two beloved and well-known Esperance landmarks are in the running to be named one of the Seven Wonders of Australia.

Cape Le Grand National Park and the pink Lake Hillier on Middle Island in the Recherche Archipelago are among 10 Western Australian and 50 national attractions nominated for the accolade.

Online travel company Experience Oz is running the Seven Wonders of Australia campaign.

As well as the two Esperance attractions, WA places in contention include the Fremantle Prison, Wave Rock, The Pinnacles, Wolfe Creek Crater and Ningaloo Marine Park.

Other big-name nominations include the Sydney Opera House, Sydney Harbour Bridge, Blue Mountains, the Snowy Mountains, Great Barrier Reef, Uluru, The Twelve Apostles and Lake Eyre.

Voting is open to people aged 18 years and older until October 7, and information on how to vote is available on the Experience Oz website
