Esperance Detectives have charged a 16-year-old male with Aggravated Armed Robbery after an incident in Nulsen on Monday, April 22.
Around 11:30pm, it is alleged the male smashed a glass door at the rear of the property and gained access to the home of a 70-year-old woman on Dalyup Drive.
It is alleged the offender approached the elderly victim whilst holding an axe above his head.
The alleged offender was a foot away from the victim when he allegedly stole two handbags and fled from the scene.
The 16-year-old was charged with Aggravated Burglary and Aggravated Armed Robbery and is due to appear in Kalgoorlie Children’s Court on June 5.
During the incident, the alleged offender is believed to have been accompanied by another person who is yet to be identified.
The second person is described as being approximately 160cm tall and wearing dark clothing.
