With the sun shining and the weather warming up, it can only mean that the Lorna Mitchell Spring Festival is quickly approaching in Kalgoorlie.

Held annually at Hammond Park, the event features a huge day of interactive stalls, face painting, jumping castles, food vans, and much more, with something to entertain people of all ages in the family.

With more than 10,000 people in attendance last year, event organisers are preparing the festival, now in it's 31st year, to be the biggest and best yet.

Stallholder spots were in hot demand in 2018 with all 150 places now filled and the entertainment schedule lined up.

Each year the event welcomes a special guest and this year co-presenter from Logie-winning television show The Living Room, Miguel Maestre, will charm everyone with his larger-than-life personality, Spanish sense of humour and culinary talents.

The Lorna Mitchell Spring Festival also helps raise money for the Royal Flying Doctor Service. Last year, just over $4000 was raised and everyone is encouraged to bring a gold coin donation so we can donate even more this year to a crucial cause that provides a vital service to the Goldfields.

The 2018 Lorna Mitchell Spring Festival is happening on Sunday, October 14th between 9:30AM and 3:30PM at Hammond Park, Kalgoorlie.
