A major investigation is underway with reports that up to seven people have been found dead in a home overnight in Margaret River.
Homicide Squad detectives are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of seven people in Osmington, near Margaret River.
About 5:15am this morning, Friday 11 May 2018, Police were called to a residence in Osmington (near Margaret River).
Upon arrival the police officers located seven people deceased – three adults and four children.
Specialist units from Perth, including the Homicide Squad and Forensic Crime Scene Unit, have deployed to the scene. Police are expected to remain at the residence for an extended period of time.
Two firearms have been located at the scene. At this point in time there are no concerns about wider public safety.
Other members of the families are in the process of being located.
WA Police Commissioner Chris Dawson said at a press conference a short time ago this incident will have a lasting impact on the community.
