More than 500 people visited Indoor Stadium in Esperance over the weekend, and watched the region’s best teams compete for the ultimate title in this year’s Basketball Grand Final.
Esperance Basketball Association president Matthew Thornton said it was a terrific night with a strong turnout; "five games were played, it was great competition and I can’t thank the supporters and all of the players enough for everything they’ve done during this past season,” he said.
With United Army and United Black going head to head, United Black was expected to win even without star player Nathan Mudie. However, United Army took out the win - leading 38 to 31.
The Grand Final MVP was awarded to Matthew Thornton, with 15 points in the Men’s A Grade.
