Albany Detectives are investigating two separate assaults that occurred in Albany on the weekend resulting in two men receiving head injuries.

Of note, while both incidents are similar they are believed to not be connected.

 

Saturday 28 July 2018

Just after 3am, a 40 year old man and his friend were in Stirling Terrace when he became involved in an altercation with a group men further along Stirling Terrace. He was struck on the face and as a result fell to the ground striking the back of his head. He was conveyed to Albany Hospital and later

transferred to Royal Perth Hospital via Royal Flying Doctors Service for treatment for serious head injuries.

 

Sunday 29 July 2018
Just after 3am a 26 year old man was on Stirling Terrace when he was approached by a man, not known to him. The man punched him in the face, knocking him to the ground. The victim has landed on his face causing injuries to his face, mouth and nose.

He was conveyed to Albany Hospital and later transferred to Royal Perth Hospital via Royal Flying Doctors Service for treatment for head injuries. Inquiries continuing into possible CCTV in the area for both assaults.
