The Salvation Army is launching a new youth help service in Townsville.
A youth outreach team will provide help for kids with addiction, and support for their families.
They'll be out and about in the community helping to connect with youth that need help to turn their lives around.
Manager of the Recovery Service Lieutenant Bradley Whittle says more planning is needed for youth services.
"The youth space obviously is a space we as a community need to figure out how we're going to continue to respond to."
In October last year The Salvation Army opened a new drug and alcohol rehabilitation centre in Townsville following its successful capital campaign which raised $4.69 million from the North Queensland community.
