It doesn't happen often, but water will seep into some local streets over the coming days.
The expected king tide will impact streets from around 9pm tonight, with Townsville City Council reminding us "if it's flooded, forget it."
Locals living in Railway Estate, South Townsville and parts of Hermit Park will potentially be impacted by the king tide.
If you know your home experiences flooding during larger tides, remember to put items to higher ground and use sandbags for gaps underneath doors.
The king tide will peak at 3.91metres on Friday night around 10pm, and will rise for the final time on Sunday night around 11pm.
Hanran St and Ogden St in the city can also expect potential flood zones.
