Four teens have been taken into custody, after allegedly pointing a replican gun on a man in Garbutt this morning, and a number of other offences.
Police using a combination of road crews, dog squad and a helicopter to catch them, at about 8.30am today.
It comes after thieves pointed what appeared to be a black handgun at a man in Garbutt at about 6.30am.
The group in a stolen white commodore also throwing a brick through the windscreen of the man's car.
The offenders also allegedly pointing it at Police officers.
Earlier this morning, Police used spike strips to try stop stolen cars on the run.
A Hermit Park woman’s work car taken and when she was on the phone to police, the offenders came back taking her personal car.
Another two, including a BMW and a commodore, taken from Mount Louisa.
Police using Stingers, successfully spiking all four tyres of the BMW.
Officers had been chasing the cars earlier this morning, but called off the pursuit because of high numbers of cyclists and traffic on the roads.
It’s understood they're among the same group of offenders that had been stealing and assaulting people in regions from Cairns to Mackay since Saturday night.
It comes after a 15 year old was arrested yesterday, the allegedly stolen car she was in catching fire at Alligator Creek.
Another offender in the car managing to get away in a stolen car that had been travelling with them from Bowen, but left her at the scene.
It comes as locals continue to show strong support for a survey calling on the State Attorney General Yvette D’Ath to introduce tougher penalties for youth offenders.
