A woman was found dead in a wheelie bin yesterday on Sydney's northern beaches.
However, police have said that the death is not being treated as suspicious.
The woman was found at the back of a unit block on Wyndora Avenue in Freshwater at approximately 1.15pm on Wednesday.
It is understood that an elderly neighbour noticed the woman's legs sticking out of the wheelie bin.
A crime scene was established, with around two dozen officers at the location.
Originally, the death was being treated as suspicious, however other avenues were later explored.
"The death of the woman, aged in her mid-60s is a possible misadventure and is being treated as an 'unexplained death'," a NSW Police spokeswoman told AAP on Thursday.
It is thought that the woman, aged in her 60s, may have suffered a heart attack and fallen into the wheelie bin.
She has been a resident of the building for some time, and was in bad health of late.
