A woman has been struck by a ute in western Sydney overnight, and is fighting her her life after the hit-and-run.
The woman was crossing the road at the Woodville Road intersection with Tangerine Street in Villawood when she was hit by a vehicle travelling north at roughly 9.35pm.
An investigation has shown that the woman was walking when prompted by the green pedestrian signal when the crash happened.
A witness told 9News that the driver had overtaken two cars and run the red light when the 20-year-old woman was hit.
She has sustained a fractured skull, bleeding of the brain and broken bones, and was rushed to Liverpool Hospital.
