Woman Charged For Allegedly Paying A Guard To Smuggle A Sandwich Press Into Prison

A woman has been charged after allegedly paying a guard to smuggle a sandwich press into a Corrective Services facility.

The incident happened in December last year, with investigators from the Corrective Services Investigation Unit identifying the plot to smuggle in contraband to a facility in Cessnock.

A 29-year-old male employee was arrested and charged on Monday, December 18.

He remains before the court.

A 37-year-old woman was arrested at Windsor Police Station at about 9.30am yesterday.

She was charged with corruptly give agent benefit.

Police will allege in court that the woman paid an officer to supply the sandwich press to her husband, who is an inmate.

The woman has been granted conditional bail and will appear before Windsor Local Court on Thursday, March 8.
