NSW Police have warned against opening a scam email which claims to be sent from the Australian Tax Office.
Social media users were alerted to the fake "Tax Refund Notification" on Thursday, which hopes to trick existing ATO clients into handing over their bank details by clicking on a dodgy link.
"SCAM ALERT! This tax refund phishing scam came through our email today," a NSW police spokesperson wrote on Facebook.
"Don't click the link. Delete straight away."
