We got you guys to tell us where to find the best burger you’ve ever eaten. Here are the top 9!
1. Dee Why Hotel
Coming in at number one was the Dee Why Hotel. Apparently ‘The Trufflenator’ is Sydney’s favourite burger ever; with double beef patties, truffle mayo, truffle butter, truffle infused provolone, truffle maple syrup bacon, American cheddar and onion rings. Is your mouth watering yet?
2. Bar Luca
If you love burgers and you haven’t heard of Bar Luca then you’ve probably been living under a rock in the wilderness very far away from Sydney. Bar Luca is without a doubt one of Sydney’s favourite places to grab a burger and some loaded fries. They even have ice-cream loaded fries. If you decide to give this place a go on National Burger Day, we recommend getting their ‘Blame Canada Burger’.
3. The Milk Bar by Café Ish
Not only does The Milk Bar do absolutely epic burgers, but if you want your sweet tooth satisfied, you can grab some of their homemade doughnuts! Burger-wise, they’ve got the ‘WTF Burger’ which has three kinds of meat, a hash brown and lots of cheese. Sweet burgers are also part of the menu with the ‘Death By Donut’ that has beef, cheese, bacon jam, a hash brown, pickles, grilled onion and aioli all in a toasted cinnamon donut.
4. Burgers By Josh
After a hugely successful pop-up at The Annandale Hotel, Burgers By Josh have recently announced their next pop-up at The Prince William Hotel in Darlinghurst. Josh is known for experimenting with his burgers, incorporating 10 patties, mac n cheese, fried chicken, and anything else you could imagine. They’ve even got a sweet and savoury mix with their ‘Bianca’s Death By Peanut Butter’ which includes a deep fried peanut butter fritter, blackberry jelly, maple bacon, beef, cheese and a french toast fried milk bun. What even?!
5. Mister Gee Burger Truck
Located in Haberfield, Mister Gee Burger Truck is celebrating National Burger Day by making all burgers only $8. Yep. Ridiculous. There’s always a long wait for this place, but it’s totally worth it. We recommend trying ‘The Truffe’ and some loaded fries at this food truck. A bit out of the way from the CBD, but if you’re near the inner west it’s a must.
6. Chefs Kitchen and Café
Chefs Kitchen and Café is located in St Leonards for all the North Shorians. Though the small shop doesn’t look like much from the outside, they make up for it with amazing service and delicious burgers. All the sauces are homemade and there is a wide range of seasoning options for your chips. We hear the milkshakes are amazing too!
7. Barrio Cellar
Barrio Cellar is a favourite amongst those in the CBD who need a good burg on a Friday after work. Not only do they do insanely delicious burgers, but their menu also includes Mexican food and tequila! The kitchen stays open late and the vibe is awesome if you want a couple of drinks with your meal.
8. Pub Life Kitchen
Great for uni students, Pub Life Kitchen is located in Ultimo. This place is notorious for its perfectly cooked burger patties – served medium rare, thick, salt cured and minced in-house. If you’re in the mood for something more experimental then head down on a Wednesday from 6pm for their weekly special, which is always a little bit weird and wonderful.
9. Bare Grill
This one is a bit out of the way, in La Perouse – but it’s a lovely area if you’re willing to trek it for the burg. Bare Grill has everything from a standard cheeseburger to a 10 patty burger known as the ‘Death By Burger’. Weekends are busy, but if you can’t be bothered waiting for a table just get takeaway and sit across the road – there’s a stunning view for sunsets.
