NSW Fire and Rescue responded to an unusually fishy call on Thursday evening when a truck carrying fish heads, blood and guts spilled onto a road in Dural.
Residents became disturbed by the smell at around 4pm, after the tailgate of a truck carrying salmon waste fell open, dumping fish parts about 100 metres down New Line Road.
Police were called to divert heavy traffic and two fire crews attempted to remove the waste.
A spokesman for NSW Fire and Rescue released a statement about the spill saying, "They definitely needed a bit of a heavy duty shower after."
The mess was cleared by around 6pm, however, residents still complained about the stench.
