That feeling in your body when you see the fireworks blasting off the Harbour and the Bridge is unlike anything else on Earth.

Want to find the best spot to watch it all free? Here are some of our faves...and did we mention they are all FREE?

SYDNEY OPERA HOUSE

How does bringing in 2018 at the Sydney Opera House sound?

Think of the iconic selfies!!!!

Get to Bennelong Point early because this is a HOT SPOT… last year, it was full by 1pm!

There is no BYO but you can buy drinks and food on site.

Gates open at 7:30am.

MRS MACQUARIES POINT

Want a prime position where you can enjoy a beverage, some food and the best views?

Mrs Macquaries Point is your go-to. It opens at 10am, so get in early to get your best position as it does fill up fast.

There are toilets and food stalls on sight. 

You cannot BYO.

KIRRIBILLI

In Kirribilli, right next to the Bridge is Mary Booth Reserve. You will be so close to the action you will feel the heat of the crackers on your body.

It is a popular spot, so get together your group and enter via Fitzroy Street.

You can take along a picnic, but you cannot drink booze.

BLUES POINT RESERVE

Blues Point Reserve at McMahons Point is a beautiful spot for some of the best firework views.

You can access it via the Ferry, train or arrive on Blues Point Road. You cannot BYO, but they do have food and drinks on site. 

Get in early; it fills up fast with the gates opening from 8am.

PIRAMMA PARK

Want to be close to the city, but not stuck in the crowds?

Then get to Pirrama Park in Pyrmont. It is on Pirrama Road and is easily accessible using the light rail by getting off at the John Street Square stop.

Pack your picnic basket and get there from 6pm for a great family night.

BALMAIN

Another spot to ring in the New Year without battling the crowds is in Balmain.

There is a few places to choose from including Illoura Reserve, Thornton Park, Looks Avenue Reserve and Simmons Point.

Alcohol is prohibited, so leave your BYO at home... or, maybe enjoy a tipple at one of the awesome Balmain Pubs on Darling Street on your way there!
