Ten people have been arrested and charged with a number of drug offences after officers conducted 11 search warrants in Cessnock and Newcastle.
Following an 11-month investigation by the Central Hunter Target Action Group and Central Hunter Drug Unit, officers today executed search warrants at eight locations in Cessnock and three in Newcastle.
Detective Inspector George Radmore, Crime Manager of the Central Hunter Local Area Command, said it was clear at the beginning of the almost year-long investigation that this was an elaborate drug operation that required expertise and patience.
"This operation will have a significant impact on the drug trade in the area and I commend all officers involved in breaking up this group," he said.
“We will be providing more details and expect further arrests in the future."
