Sydney Workers Urged To Stay At Home During Train Strike

Sydney workers are being urged to stay at home on Monday, January 29.

This comes as the planned Sydney train strike appears to be going ahead, which will likely 'shut down the city'.

ANZ and Westpac have instructed employees to work from home, with more than 9,000 train workers set to strike.

This comes as train workers seek a six per cent annual pay increase over four years.

However, the NSW government is refusing to budge on the 2.5 per cent wage gap.

NSW Transport Minister Andrew Constance is set to meet again with union officials this morning in an attempt to come to an agreement.

A meeting was also held earlier in the week, however despite the four-hour negotiation, no agreement was met.
