A Sydney woman has been charged with throwing acid in her former husband’s face.
The 55-year-old woman is said to have confronted her ex at his workplace in Silverwater about 1.30pm on Monday.
Following an argument between the pair, the woman allegedly went to the office kitchen and returned with a mug containing a corrosive fluid that she then threw in the man’s face.
The 58-year-old man suffered burn injuries to his eye; he is in stable condition in hospital. The woman was later arrested at a home in the suburb of Belfield.
She was served with an Appended Domestic Violence Order and charged with throwing fluid with intent to burn/maim cause grievous bodily harm (DV) and larceny.
She was refused bail to appear in Burwood Local Court on Tuesday.
