Sydney Trains Are Packed With Some Services At 170 Per Cent Capacity

A record 400 million train trips have been taken by commuters in less than a year, with calls for Transport Minister Andrew Constance to ensure that the train system can handle the load.

This compares to 385 million journeys for the last financial year, according to The Daily Telegraph.

It has also been revealed that some trains are at 170 per cent capacity, despite the introduction of a new train timetable in November last year to try to combat the issue.

There are 24 new trains on the way, with these services to hopefully ease some of the peak hour congestion.
