A Sydney criminal might want to rethink his career choice after being charged over an attempted carjacking at Ashfield yesterday.
The 41 year old is accused of pulling a 47 year old woman out of her car while stopped at a set of lights at the intersection of Norton Street and Holden Street at 2.45pm.
The only problem was - it was a manual car - something he couldn't drive.
Instead he stole her purse and fled on foot before she was able to call police.
Later that night, he was arrested on unrelated matters with her purse containing her credit cards and identification located.
He was charged with robbery and assault with intent to take/drive vehicle and is behind bars to front Central Local Court today.
