The final few days of 2016 will offer little relief for Sydney residents, with severe heatwave conditions forecast for the rest of the week.
A top of 30 degrees is forecast for Sydney on Wednesday, with the west expected to reach 37 degrees.
Things will only get hotter on Thursday, with a top of 37 degrees for the city and 42 degrees forecast in Penrith.
The hot weather will continue all weekend, with a high of 33 on Friday, 31 on Saturday and 29 on Sunday.
Cooler temperatures are forecast for Monday, with a maximum of just 24 degrees.

- Keep cool
- Take care of others
