Quakers Hill House Fire: Man Charged 9 News

Police have charged a man over the Quakers Hill fire earlier this week.

Just after 2.15pm on Monday, emergency services attended a home on Montrose Street following reports of a house fire.

It will be alleged by police that a 43-year-old man and 44-year-old woman got into an altercation. The woman is then believed to have left the home.

A fire broke out at the premises shortly after, and witnesses report seeing a man leave the house at this time.

Fire & Rescue NSW worked to extinguish the blaze.

There were no injuries sustained, but the house was destroyed.

An investigation was commenced by Quakers Hill Local Area Command regarding the blaze.

A 43-year-old man was arrested at approximately 1.15pm yesterday and taken to Waverly Police Station.

The man was charged with damage property by fire, two counts of domestic assault and breach apprehended violence order.

He was refused bail and will appear at Waverly Local Court today.
