Premature Babies Evacuated From Sydney Hospital

Ceiling collapse

Premature babies have been “safely” relocated from an intensive care ward at Randwick’s Royal Hospital for Women, following a partial ceiling collapse.

A South East Local Health District spokesperson told The Daily Telegraph that staff and patients were not affected by the incident, which occurred on Sunday.

“There was a problem with the ceiling and the patients were moved to an alternate location in the hospital, where they are being safely looked after,” they said.

Among patients involved in the relation were babies as small as 500g, with some also receiving treatment on ventilators.
