Police Launch Appeal After 9-Year-Old Killed In Campsie Car Accident

Authorities are appealing for public assistance after a nine-year-old boy died after a traffic incident in Campsie last month.

Police say the crash occurred on Thursday March 8 around 4.30pm, when a white Toyota Hiace travelling north on Loch Street struck the boy, who had run onto the road.

While he was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics and taken to Sydney Children’s Hospital Randwick in a critical condition, the boy died at approximately 3.30am on Tuesday March 20 2018.

The 19-year-old male driver was not injured and was cleared after undergoing mandatory testing.

Campsie Police Area Command officers attended and commenced investigations into the circumstances surrounding the crash.

Police will prepare a report for the Coroner.
