A man has been crushed to death after an excavator he was loading onto a truck fell on him in the NSW Blue Mountains.
Emergency services were called to the vacant block on Somerset Street in Medlow Bath about 6.35pm on Monday following reports a backhoe had fallen on a patient, a NSW Ambulance spokeswoman said.
Initial inquiries suggest the excavator moved and fell on the victim as it was being loaded onto the truck, a police spokeswoman said.
"Despite the efforts of those on the scene the man was unable to be revived," she said.
SafeWork NSW has been notified of the incident and police are preparing a report for the Coroner.
