If you’ve been waiting for just the right time to hit the snow… the time is now!
It has just been reported that NSW has had the biggest dumping of snow in years
In the past week, over a metre of fresh snow has fallen on the Australian Alps, which makes it the perfect time for people to visit the mountains this weekend.
Since last Thursday, more than a metre of snow has fallen at New South Wales ski resorts Perisher (117cm) and Thredbo (135cm).
Perisher’s Chief Operating Officer, Peter Brulisauer said in an official statement, “It’s one of the biggest we have ever seen. The second half of winter, including spring, is shaping up to be the best in many years.
While the snow has left a thick layer, it isn’t ideal for skiers and snow boarders and they have been hit with damaging winds.
Nine News has reported that blizzard conditions will hit the New South Wales Alps this afternoon.
They will be faced with gusts of more than 110km/h expected in areas above 1900m.
If you do want to see the snow, now is the perfect time to go.
