Man Falls Onto Railway Tracks In Sydney

A man has been injured after falling onto railway tracks and getting stuck between a train and a platform in Sydney's southwest.

Emergency services were called to Yagoona train station about 6am on Monday, a police spokeswoman told AAP.

"A 34-year-old man man lost his balance and fell onto the tracks," she said.

The man suffered injuries to his hand and a cut to his head and was taken to Liverpool Hospital in a stable condition, a NSW Ambulance spokesman said.

Trains were disrupted on the Bankstown line for a short time but have since resumed normal services.
