The boyfriend of a young woman found dead at a western Sydney home will remain behind bars after he was charged with contravening an apprehended domestic violence order.
The man has a lengthy history of violence and was on parole at the time, according to court documents.
Hayley Mcclenahan-Ernst died at a Kingswood home despite efforts from paramedics in the early hours of Sunday.
Max Spencer, 21, was later charged with contravening an AVO, and on Monday he had his first court mention at Penrith.
He did not apply for bail and it was formally refused.
Spencer's lawyer Ben Archbold asked that he receive a psychological assessment while in custody, and the matter was adjourned until July 3.
