Lane Cove has just gotten a brand new multipurpose dining and social space… say hello to The Alcott.
It has officially opened today and it is, elegant, stylish and relaxed, this new 200-seater contemporary venue will be an exciting addition to the lower north shore.
Head chef Richard Slarp (formerly of Sake, Aria Catering and Est.) has created a fresh Mediterranean menu using chargrill throughout with the vibrant spritz bar and charming outdoor terrace adding to the European feel.
“This has been a really fun menu to design, I’ve always been a fan of Mediterranean flavours and diners can expect traditional dishes with a modern Australian twist,” said Chef Richard Slarp. “I have also been working with a number of quality boutique suppliers which will see us have some fun with our specials each week”.
The menu is designed to be shared amongst friends with highlight dishes including the Charred Southern Calamari with pickled fennel, rocket, tomato pangrattato and lemon; Whole Grilled Flathead Tail with puttanesca sauce of tomatoes, olives, capers and basil; Twice Cooked Lamb Ribs with toasted almonds coriander and sumac; and Smoky Chargrilled Eggplant with tahini yogurt dressing and crispbreads.
A dedicated Spritz Bar will have guests reminiscing on their European travel adventures with seasonal spritzes including a wintery Plum Wine Spritz with homemade plum puree, Mediterranean herbs, and Prosecco. In addition to the spritz cocktails, The Alcott will have an expansive wine list with a balance of contemporary and classical Australian wine with a European focus.
On weekends, The Alcott will be open for brunch serving up wholesome dishes such as a Warm Green Bowl with sweet potato hummus, kale, broccolini, peas, puffed wild rice, pumpkin seeds and poached eggs; Shakshuka Baked Eggs with tomato sauce, manchego, grilled Turkish bread and of course Smashed Avocado on toasted sourdough with tomato, Persian feta, mint and poached eggs.
Keen to provide the local community with entertainment options, The Alcott will be hosting a number of events including art workshops, comedy nights and an impressive line-up of musical performances on Sunday afternoons and DJ’s spinning Friday and Saturday nights.
