Intense wind gusts of 57 km/h are still causing massive headaches at Sydney airport with more than 50 flights cancelled today - and lots of passengers still stranded.
Air Services Australia spokeswoman Sarah Fulton told AAP that while two runways were now open, just a single-runway in operation would continue – in turn delaying the backlog of grounded flights.
"Because of yesterday's conditions at Sydney we are starting to see a flow-on impact on the network and that will continue today," Ms Fulton said.
The Bureau of Meteorology has issued further wind warnings for Saturday across the Sydney region, which includes a gale-force wind warning for the Hunter Coast, Illawarra Coast, Batemans Coast and Eden Coast.
Passengers travelling in and out of Sydney airport are advised to monitor flight information with their airlines and on the Sydney Airport website.
