Large dust storms could again stir up in NSW – and they could even reach Sydney.
The Sydney Morning Herald reports rising temperatures and winds ahead of a cold front could stir up large dust storms in western NSW this week.
The dry conditions affecting South Australia and Queensland increase the risk of dust storms – which is unusual for this time of year.
Duty Forecaster Gabrielle Woodhouse told the SMH while it was too early to predict huge dust storms, today’s winds could be a sign of a windy spring.
“It’s hit or miss as to how much dust we will see through NSW because of where the winds will be able to pick up dust from,” she explained.
Rain however isn’t on the cards.
“Rainfall (will) not be huge totals – which is not nice for the farmers,” she added.
