Five-Year-Old In Serious Condition After 'Accidental Strangulation' In Eastern Creek

In breaking news, a five-year-old girl is in a serious condition after what is believed to be an accidental strangulation incident.

According to NSW Ambulance, the call was received at 4.30pm today regarding an incident on Penfold Street in Eastern Creek.

Four crews attended the scene, and arrived to treat the five-year-old who was found hanging in the backyard for a short period by family members in what is believed to be a horrible accident.

There is no hint of self harm, according to paramedics.

CPR was performed by the family before emergency services arrived, with the child conscious upon their arrival.

She has been taken to Westmead Childrens Hospital in a critical condition.

A police spokesperson has said that inquiries continue into the incident.
