First Person Charged Under NSW One-Punch Laws Jailed

The first person to be charged under NSW's one punch laws has been jailed for at least eight years regarding an attack on a Sydney nurse in 2014.

Hugh Bacalla Garth was found guilty of assault causing death earlier this year.

He was intoxicated and punched a stranger, Raynor Manalad, 21, at Rooty Hill.

The NSW District Court on Friday jailed him to 10 years with a non-parole period of eight years.
