A Vigil For Eurydice Dixon Is Being Held In Sydney Tonight

The tragic death of 22-year-old woman Eurydice Dixon rocked Australia last week and has since sparked outrage across the nation surrounding the safety of women.

Tonight, a memorial vigil is being held in Sydney, along with other major cities and small towns across the country, to mourn the death of the young Melbourne comedian and to take a stand against "sexual violence, gendered violence, and predation towards women".

Attendees are encouraged to bring their own candles and rug up for the night.

"Please join us at this vigil in memory of Eurydice Dixon and all others who have suffered as the result of gendered violence, at the same time as the community in Melbourne does the same.

"It is essential that we acknowledge and keep in mind that this happens to Indigenous women, women of colour, queer, trans, and non-binary folks and these stories almost never make the front pages.

"We ask that you bring candles, though the University of Sydney Women's collective will be providing a small amount."

WHERE: Archibald Fountain, Hyde Park

WHEN: Monday 18 June, 5:30-7:30 pm
