Sydneysiders are used to spending Australia Day at the beach or BBQing in the sunshine. However, with the weather looking gloomy AF (with potential rain) most of us will want to stay inside.
It can be tough to coordinate plans with bad weather, so to help you out we’ve collected some fun pubs, bars and restaurants you can go to for a drink and a meal!
Manly Wharf Hotel
This spot is perfect as there is an indoor and outdoor section – you can grab some sun just in case it shows itself! Plus, the guys will be serving up cheese-and-vegemite pizzas in celebration of Australia Day, as well as a BBQ on the jetty.
Watson's Bay Boutique Hotel
The BBQ will be on all day serving bacon and egg rolls for breakfast and shrimps on the barbie later on. The bar will be serving up Aussie cocktails, plus you can enter the Every Man and His Dog Stand Up Paddling competition!
Darlo Country Club
If you're more of a night owl, head to the Australia Day Eve party. It's $35 but you'll get free cocktails plus an Aussie BBQ banquet. There are DJs all night including Jimmy2Sox (from Flight Facilities) and more.
The Woollahra Hotel
If you're heading to The Woollahra Hotel, bring your swimmers because on the terrace there's a 1970s themed pool party! Don't worry about the rain either - there's a retractable roof that will surely be in use if it starts to drizzle.
Royal Hotel Paddington
If you're down for a relaxed afternoon, head to the Royal Hotel in Padidngton. There will be a local band on the ground floor, a sausage sizzle and a rooftop bar if there's a spot of sun.
The Ettamogah Hotel
There will be live music, thong throwing, pie eating and a BBQ in the beer garden for Australia Day! You can even bring the kids along - there's free face painting. Fun for the whole family!
The Fiddler is celebrating Australia Day with a wide variety of drinks specials! Plus, they have an outdoor courtyard just in case the weather improves.
