A man being hunted over a triple stabbing at a Sydney gym is also wanted for the armed robbery of two service stations.
Three men are in hospital after the stabbing at the fitness centre in Brookvale around 8pm on Monday night.
NSW Police say the attacker drove away in a stolen vehicle and then carried out two armed robberies of service stations in Newcastle.
The first occurred at Sandgate about an hour and a half after the gym stabbing when a man threatening a female worker with a knife.
Fifteen minutes later the same man went into another service station in Sandgate, picked up two chocolate bars and again threatened a worker.
In both cases cash was stolen.
"Officers responding to the armed robbery saw the stolen vehicle leaving the service station and pursued, however it managed to evade police," NSW Police said in a statement on Tuesday.
The man's description matches that from the stabbing at Brookvale, police said.
He's believed to be driving a black BMW with the NSW number plate DKK 39Q.
