Ten million dollars announced for Stage 1 of Mildura South Sporting Precinct.

Major upgrades are on the way for Sunraysia, the Federal Government announcing millions for the Mildura South Sporting Precinct.

 

Applied for in partnership with Mildura Rural City Council, ten million dollars will be handed down under Round 2 of the Building Better Regions Fund - Infrastructure Projects Stream.

 

The funds will go towards Stage 1 of the project, developing a major sporting hub for the community.

Works will include multiple indoor sports courts, spectator seating for 230 people, a cafe/kiosk area and a 124 space car park on the corner of Sixteenth Street and Deakin Avenue.

 

The scheme follows the Mildura Future Ready Plan, and is expected to create an economic boom for the industry.

 

136 projects were funded across the country, Mildura the one of two recipients to receive ten million dollars.

 

The works are expected to create up to forty-one jobs during construction, and an ongoing twenty once Stage 1 is complete.
