Mildura Rural City Council has met with the Murray Darling Basin Royal Commission.
Officials discussed local concerns over good governance and transparency in relation to the Basin plan.
Councillors have also discussed the issue of continued development of large scale irrigation-dependent enterprises without concise planning controls, focusing on the threat this poses to the sustainability of water and water dependent industries.
Council has emphasized effective management of the plan can potentially make or break many locals way of living, and can impact the community as a whole.

Officials say they're happy with the Royal Commission's response, and it's request for more detail on issues raised during conversation.
