Mildura MP Peter Crisp has welcomed the State Government's decision to reconsider another poll for the Greater Sunraysia Pest Free Area (GSPFA) Committee.
The previous poll sparked criticism for it's timing, held in a busy farming period.
Minister for Agriculture Jaala Pulford has reportedly agreed to reconsider their decision to ax the GSPFA Committee, the local MP calling for a new poll outside of the busy picking period.
The GSPFA Committee works to improve pest control in our region, including tree removal; trap maintenance and boosting public awareness.
Under the current decision, the Committee would be axed in December of this year.
The Leader of the Nationals and Shadows Minister for Agriculture Peter Walsh has also applauded the decision. saying Sunraysia's hoticulture sector is a key part of the regional economy.
