The committal hearing continues today for the man accused of killing Cardross woman Karen Belej in May 2016.

The court was told yesterday 37 year old Brandon Osborne was covered head to toe in blood when police arrived at the home that night and forensic evidences pointed to Ms Belej being shot at extremely close range to her head.

The hearing will decide if Osborne will stand trial for murder.



Shocked reactions to the death of a local sportsman at work have come from his close knit sports community.

The Sunraysia Daily report 42 year old electrician Frank Dichiera was a much loved teammate and an honest and reliable friend to those close to him.

Mr Dichiera died suddenly while at work on Tuesday, Safe Work Victoria are making enquiries into his death.


Following meetings with commonwealth state and territory education ministers the annual NAPLAN exam will move from pen and paper to online

If the trial called the readiness test is successful all Australian schools including those in Sunraysia will participate in the NAPLAN online by 2019

A final decision about the online exam will be made following rediness tests in NSW in august and September this year.

The Wildcats Premier men will go through to the grand final in the Mildura Basketball Association next week after last night’s win over Alcheringa.

The team scored 80 points to their 57 - and will take on Workers in the Grand Final next Wednesday night.



And our young athletes have claimed success at the Little Athletics SA state individual championships with four locals coming home with medals for their performance.
