Mildura's been labelled a welfare-driven, nappy-valley hotspot the Prime Minister pledging to intervene to help end the cycle of teen pregnancy, youth unemployment and intergenerational welfare reliance.

Sunraysia will receive the ParentsNext Program from July 2018 struggling parents to receive intensive face to face training, parenting courses, education and guidance to help them get a job.

Prime Minister Turnbull says the objective of all of these programs is to get working age people into the workforce.

As part of National Families Week the push is on to get more people across Sunraysia to sign up to be Foster Carers.

Mallee Family Care are tasked with connecting at risk children with families on both sides of the border.

Andrew McCallum from the Association of Children's Welfare Agencies says there's a huge need for families willing to take in siblings.

The Wentworth Shire Council is endeavouring to make the region more accessible and inclusive for people with a disability.

The Council is developing a draft Disability Inclusive Action Plan and is looking for community input.

The Plan helps fulfil Council's obligations under the Disability Inclusion Act 2014, and recognises the need for providing accessible and equitable services.

The plan is available for viewing on Council's website.

The Honourable Neil Andrew AO will launch the "Salt of the Earth" video at the Mildura Field Day today.

The presentation will recognise the achievements of the country's most successful salinity-tackling initiative the Salt Interception Scheme.

The Sunraysia Football & Netball League action's back again this weekend with Mildura the only team to sit out Round 5.

In the footy, Red Cliffs head down the Calder to take on Ouyen United.

South Mildura cross the border to play Wentworth.

Robinvale-Euston are at home to Irymple.

And the Imps take on Merbein at Number One oval.
