The continued deleopment of jobs southwest will ensure local job seekers, youth at risk and other vulnerable people in the community are able to access services of the highest standards, local member for Bunbury, Don Punch MLA, has said.

"It was a great pleasure to present a cheque to Jobs South West from Lotterywest for $36,830" Mr Punch said.

"As a new member of Parliament, I must say one of the joys of the job is being able to be part of celebrating and recognising the achievements and hard work of community service organisations in Bunbury.

The LotteryWest funds provided to Jobs South West will support the organisation to continue to grow and develop, and continuously improve the services they offer.

Western Australia has the highest unemployment rates in the country. In Bunbury youth unemployment has risen to over 8 percent and across the South West there are 5 000 more unemployed people than there were five years ago, so this LotteryWest funding is truly money well spent.

"The McGowan Labor government is committed to creating jobs and addressing unemployment in WA but we can't do it along. It is organisations like Jobs South West that will help us get Western Australians back to work.

"I commend Jobs South West for their commitment to continuous improvement and look forward to seeing their achievements, as the benefits of this funding are realised."
