Residents are being asked to take part in a Community Perception Survey that will give the City of Bunbury an indication of how it is performing in the eyes of the people.

An independent market research company will undertake the survey on behalf of the City with 4000 residents being randomly selected to take part between 5 May and 26 May.

Randomly selected residents will receive the survey either by email or in the post, but members of the community can also participate by filling out an online survey at the City of Bunbury website www.bunbury.wa.gov.au and searching for “community consultation”.

Questions relating to City processes, decision-making, service delivery, roads, paths and cycleways, facilities, events and activities, health and wellbeing and much more have been include in the survey.

Bunbury Mayor Gary Brennan said it was important the City engaged with residents so it could measure community perceptions of various aspects of the City’s operations and broader Council performance, identify community priorities, as well as provide benchmarking against other WA local governments.

“Responses will be collated into a report that will be presented to Council and then be made publicly available,” Mr Brennan said.

“The survey is just one of the ways ratepayers and residents can voice their praise or concerns and we will be analysing the results of the survey very carefully and making sure the community is kept abreast of any outcomes.

“Results will also help to inform the next revision of the Strategic Community Plan, which will be undertaken in the 2017-18 financial year.”
