New Network Created to Help Tackle South Burnett’s Ice Epidemic

A group of people from government, and non-government agencies have banded together to create a local drug action team in the South Burnett.

Police, paramedics, doctors, health care workers and community workers will work together to help tackle the ‘ice’ epidemic in the region.

The group recently applied for funding through the drug and alcohol foundation to help get things started.

The need for the network comes after a forum hosted in Kingaroy earlier this year looked at ice the and the problem its causing in the community

The network will run out of the community hospital.
